Unbirthday has the perfect treat for your next birthday. Your birthday is fast approaching and you’re looking to ‘up the anti’ this year from a Woolworths bought chocolate cake, to something a little more decadent. If you’re looking for something truly original, it’s time to head over to the good people at Unbirthday.
Located in Castle Hill – Sydney, the team at Unbirthday has accumulated a mass following through the wondrous realm of Instagram, where their creations are admired and every second girl is hinting at her relatives by tagging them on Facebook or Instagram. Specialising in birthday cakes that somewhat resemble wedding cakes, the layers of icing and multiple colours are enough for a family of 47.
Unbirthday are open from Wednesday to Saturday, but don’t think you can make a call and get your cake delivered the next day. Oh no. These babies take care and time to produce, so a minimum notice of two weeks is required. The cake can be kept for two days after purchase (as long as its wrapped in masses of cling wrap), so you can indulge in seconds and thirds – if that’s what you desire.
Unfortunately, these cakes are not vegan or gluten free just yet. Butter, milk, eggs and flour are a necessity for the bakers at Unbirthday to produce the fluffy and sweet consistency of a traditional cake.
